The latest PHS Face to Face meeting took place in the historic Market Town of Oakham in Rutland on May 29th.
We met in the Congregational Church Hall, on the High St at 10.00 for tea, coffee etc. commencing at 10.30. Our webmaster Mark Bailey has given a succinct summing up of the day on our PHS Facebook page.
All in all, an enjoyable meeting, attended by 9 members and 1 guest. We had a really interesting mix of good quality displays, ranging from pre-stamp material including early mail coach mail between London and Norwich, 2 different displays of Frees, and Somerset mileage marks, postal history relating to the Great North Road, Indore state postal history, and Paris postal history, through Borneo airmails from the 1920s and cinderellas in the form of Snowdon Summit cachets on numerous postcards.
