March ZOOM Meeting

The most recent ZOOM meeting was held on March 4th at 2.15pm when we were shown two displays. The first was given by Claire Scott FRPSL. A fascinating display of “Context Postal History” being a collection of letters home from the British Submariner William Greenall Coe covering the time from his basic training in 1912 up until his final letter, following the loss of his Submarine, which sank with all hands in 1917. The second display entitled “Post Cards Post Cards Post Cards” was given by our President Graham Winters FRPSL. It extolled the virtues of early Postcards in encouraging people to start collecting Postcards as a way into the study of Postal History. Postcards from the Town where you live or on the theme of a hobby you enjoy (e.g. Golf) or your working life. Both were very well received by the 15 members who took part. They will soon be available to view on the PHS Facebook page, a link to which can be found on the Home page of this website. Next month’s ZOOM meeting will be on Tuesday April 2nd at 7.15pm. If you would like to take part by showing a 6 sheet presentation of favoured pieces from your collection, then please let me know and I will add you to the list.
